Identifying an Insect Egg?

Identifying an Insect Egg - small round orange objectsIs this an insect egg? It is small and hard if tried to break it. I found two of these in my carpet. I find some of these at times in different spots around my room.

They don't look like an egg.

You said they are hard. What happens if you drop them in hot water?

If the dissolve they could be some kind of candy. Either sugar will dissolve or yellow dye will color water.

If nothing happens, they could be plastic chips from something.

Post back what you learn! So curious!

To tell you the truth it looks like a neighbor has a pellet gun and is shooting the small yellow or orange pellets at the birds in your yard. Now if these are found in your home this is a different story all together.

They could be a rat or some other rodent has drug them into your home from outside. I would say they look more like candy than they do eggs and if they are hard they are not insect eggs at all.

An insect egg would not be hard. Even a chicken egg is hard only at the shell level, then it breaks easily.
