I found this on my comforter this morning and am not sure what kind of bug this is and whether this is harmful or just a normal bug due to the summer. Any suggestions would be helpful.

This looks like a small black beetle that comes in the home during this time of the year. From you image I can see it looks like this bug. pulpbits.net/
Yes same here!!!!! We have been finding them ALL over in our apartment, on usin my car. Was freaking out!! Didn't know if we had an infestation of some kind, maybe us or the dog bringing them in.

I have been getting bit for the past two days and I didnt know why I thought sense we have animals they might have flees but normally even if they do I never get bit by them this morning I felt something on my neck so I scratched it and one of these bugs was on my neck I killed it but I still have no idea what it is but the bites are not as itchy as mosquito bites so Im not that concerned but still would like to know what the hell they are
This is a beetle, they often feed on plants and fungi, there are some that feed off of other insects. Here is more info about Beetles - en.wikipedia.org/
Looks like one of the many black beetles but difficult to tell exactly which one. Sometimes takes a real 'bug expert' to tell the real name.

The US has county extension offices that help identify bugs in each area and also give advice on how to remove them from your home.
The main thing to do is to watch for others so you will know that you have to start a clearing/killing project.

Same here!! I've found 6 already in the last week. 1 on me 1 on my daughter one on our kitchen table and 3 in my car YUCK!!! Need to get rid of whatever they are!!
