Identifying and Caring for a Houseplant?

Identifying and Caring for a HouseplantThis is the only plant I have and it's very important to me. I've replanted it, water it about every 3-4 days as I did before. I am giving it plant food every 2 weeks as it says on the bottle, but still nothing and it is looking worse and worse every day. I am hoping if I find out what this plant is all about I will be better equipped to make sure it survives.

Many thanks.

I'm not sure what it is, but wrap it in a plastic bag and blow air in the bag before you seal it. You will create a greenhouse effect and it will perk up.

It might be a pothos. You might be overwatering it. Try not to soak the soil but water around the plant.

I'm thinking Spathiphylum.

I also believe your plant is in the Spathiphylum family, probably the more common Peace Lily.
A few questions - how long have you had your plant? Was it doing okay before you replanted it? Have you moved it recently? Does you new pot have sufficient drainage holes (very important)?

It sounds like you are over watering it as well as over fertilizing it.
These plants are usually easy to grow (but they are poisonous) so just read up on the care instructions and you may be able to save your plant. Here is a link that has very good care instructions:

Thank you for your help. I've had it for about 5 years now and have recently replanted it because it looked like it was running out of space. I tried to give it more sunlight and put it on the window ledge. Moved it already - I understand it was a mistake now. I never used to water it too much, maybe every other week and it was fine. I've possibly over panicked and nearly killed it by trying to look after it too much.

I am going to slow down and stop feeding it.

There is a drainage hole on the bottom of the pot that stands on the plastic plate type of thing. If I lift it I can see some water so it is coming out. But If I look inside the pot I am pretty sure I see a tiny bit of mold on the dirt.

Please advise.
