I have a craftsman 22" riding mower. Other than getting ready for a tuneup it has been running fine. A couple weeks ago while mowing I ran over a plastic down spout extension the mower choked and stopped.
Changed starter, new battery, new starter solenoid, cleaned all grounds, when starting engine turns but the neg cable gets hot and sparks, and smokes
I got a 16horse yard machine it barely turns over even with a brand new battery I took the starter apart an its all good what els can it be
I just wanted to say thank you for this forum I could not find why my mower was not charging the battery and I know my way around a mower somewhat? ha ha he he The statement on this forum

My mower was in neutral and my son sitting on it while I was cleaning the deck..it stalled out and now no power at all, what could it be..I jumped it and no power still.
I went to try starting it made a noise n wouldn't. Turn over yard machine
I have a troy bilt riding mower and it trys to crank but will not completely turn over. Tested the battery and was 12.6 but the lights dont come on. Now not sure if they are always on or sensor for night. Oil ok has plenty of gas. I had it running til ingot to the front yard then it just turned off and would not completely turn over.
