I found him years ago as a trapped, starving infant.

I found this little tiger in my out building when he was very small. His mother had had a litter there, atop a large sheet of netting. As cat moms will, she decided to move her litter. She moved them all except for this one. He had become entangled in the netting and she couldn't free him.
I found him a few days later, hungry and dehydrated. I fed and rehydrated him. Then I placed him outside where his mom would be sure to find him. She found him, approached him, sniffed him and then walked away. She would have nothing to do with him.
I ended up raising Felix and we became good friends. In the picture, he is gnawing my hand. Though baby kittens are born with teeth, I think he was going through a 'teething period'.
I thought I could save money by making my own formula for him. I used only the best, fresh and nutritious, milk based ingredients. What I actually did was to cause the kitten several days of discomfort and a couple days of real suffering.
Please take my advice. Unless you are an expert in the field of feline nutrition, do not attempt to make a kitten formula, yourself. You will only cause the kitten to be sick and probably die. Be smart. Buy a commercial formula.
The picture is several years old and Felix is gone, now. I had had cats as pets before but never was attached to them. Felix and I became the best of friends, the very best.

Here is Felix a few days after I found him. Had I not switched his food from homemade to commercial, he wouldn't have lasted longer than than a few more days.

I brought a day old feral kiten home from work. Gave her formula from the petstore. She got spayed and always received her shots.
Thank you for sharing. He was a cutie. I've always had pets, cats and dogs. I have one now, others too, but she is 19 and raised from a very early age, her eyes were barely open. She was abandoned. She is a mess but my baby.
