What causes the buds to drop from a healthy indoor grown avocado tree. The tree is about 4 1/2 feet tall. Two other trees don't seem to have the same problem.

That tree may have root rot. Are you watering it more than the others or is it in a position where it is not getting as much light and needs less water than the others?
Is the tree under an air conditioning/heating vent? Sometimes even a slight extreme in temperature can cause this.
Try moving it to another location--behind one of the healthy plants and see if that makes a difference.
