We use our Aerobed inflatable mattress when we go camping. One time, we forgot to bring the wall socket car adapter that allows us to plug in the mattress for it to inflate. We jury rigged a camping air mattress pump with a soda bottle so it would fit the Aerobed. It worked well enough to allow us a good night's sleep.
