Does anyone know anything about Belknap BlueGrass riding mowers? I have one in great condition. It's a 7hp with a 26 inch deck. I Googled it, but didn't find anything. I m curious about the year it was made and if it's a collectible like other Belknap tools.
From yesterdays tractors.com Belknap, who sold and distributed Bluegrass Hardware was originally based in Louisville Kentucky as mentioned. They DID NOT manufacture that lawn mower. They had several contractors who built various products for them, with the Belknap/Bluegras name on them.
In the late 1970's, Belknap started down-sizing, and moved across the river to Jeffersonville Indiana. They lasted only a few more years. Their assets were auctioned off in the mid 1980's.
As a mower, they aren't extremely valuable, but there are quite a few Belknap collectors who would probably be very interested in it.
