I acquired this beauty at an estate sale yesterday as I had the perfect place for it. I had no idea it was even labeled or had a name. After I got it home I found the magazine clipping in the little cubby at the bottom. Also, had no idea it had a light until later when I returned with the hubby and truck to pick it up. We have searched the internet all day and can't find anything even remotely similar. Please help :)

Brandt went out of business in 1985 but their items clearly have retained a lot of value -- and this is a fine piece for sure. I saw a catalog from 1960 but the Society Hill Group wasn't featured (probably too early). There is a Facebook page -- inactive since 2018 but might be worth a try: www.facebook.com/
Thank you so much for responding and for the hint
They retain their value. I think it is worth at least $500.
Thank you for your response
This is a fabulous piece!
How nice to have a documented history of this unusual piece.
I'm having difficulty finding any information on the 'Brandt Society Hill Group' pieces so I'm thinking this may have been a specialty group and not many items were made.
I found a couple of interesting piece that are in the area as yours but nothing that can really be compared. One is Brandt but one is an unknown brand and the asking prices do not seem to be extra high when looking at other display cabinets.

I believe you could consider the value of your etagere to be somewhere between $400 - $650.
Of course you do not plan to sell but if you have full coverage insurance then you should have estimates on all items over $100 as that is about the only way to file claims and get paid.
Official appraisals are always the best so you may want to think about submitting pictures to one of the free sites and see what they tell you.
