Information About Buffet?

A decorative wooden buffet.I am wondering what it's worth, but also if anyone recognizes a year it may be from? I really would like to know anything about it.

I would say you have a late 19th century/early 20th century Spanish Revival sideboard on your hands.

I am basing this on the look, the feet, the wear, and the design.

Can you tell me if you can tell if the wheels are plastic, rubber, wood, metal, or ceramic? Casters/wheels can often be used to data the piece.

Did you check the back and drawer undersides and under the body for a tag or any markings? Knowing the brand may or may not be helpful in valuing it.

GENERALLY, value depends on where you are located as pieces like this can range in retail price from $25 to $1000. Huge range. All depends on the supply and demand in your area.

Sadly you could have something worth $1000 in my town and no one wants it in your town and you would get offers of pennies on the dollar. That is just the nature of furniture resales.

It is a lovely piece and if you cleaned it up and maybe had a professional look to do some refinishing, it would be of service to you for many more years. These pieces were built to last and be enjoyed. It is a nice size so in today's world could serve many purposes from a hall table to a side board to a pantry to a dresser to a catch all in a mudroom.

Post back if you find any markings with a clear photo of it!

Thanks for sharing!

There are metal castor wheels. No markings, or serial numbers of any kind. The dovetailing on the drawers looks hand done as they are not precise as a machine would have made.

Look for markings inside a drawer, behind or underneath the piece. It may be a true antique or it may be a knockoff worth much less.

So I had a look, there are no markings, serial numbers. No indications at all of a maker.
