I have been left this Capodimonte in my father's will, I am trying to find out more information as to the sculptor. It is signed but I am having trouble finding information about the sculptor. It has the Capodimonte mark. I have been told it is from approximately 1939 and called the Clock Maker. It is very large and heavy. Weight is 6kg. Height is 14in/35cm. Width is 15in/38cm. Depth is 10.75in/27.4cm. It is in beautiful condition. Any information would be great.

TONI CINGANO was an artist for the brand in the mid to late 20th century. The style matches, the signature matches, but that does not fit 1939. I have seen some people call him/her Tomi C and Tomi G because the signature is hard to read.
The pieces are porcelain. Mostly found in Europe.
Hello Again I have sent an e mail to that place with pictures of the item hopefully will hear from them soon. Thank you for all your help and I will be in touch with you if I hear from them
Kind Regards
Sharon
Great! Let us know what you find out!
Similar figures are asking in the $150 range.
Thank you Judy, but I am more interested in the signature of the sculptor than the value.
Can you tell me if this is resin or ceramic? Also do you have the box?
I am very puzzled by the piece and the signature. Are you positive it is from the 1930s? Are you in the US?
I am in England. I am sure it is porcelain. There was a Bill of Sale in envelope attached to the base, from Steyne Antique Galleries Worthing, stating it was bought from them for £320 and the date was 'approx 1939', and they called it 'The Clock Maker'. Does this help you to give me any more information, I don't want to say it is 1939 if it isn't. Thank you for your reply.
Is that shop still around? Can you call them? If not, if this auction house is still around, maybe they can shed some light:

I am curious if the person is still living, because I cannot find an obituary. I have found some later pieces attributed to the 1970s, which fits what I have in my notes about the person being mid to late 20th century.
Post back what you learn. Meanwhile I am still digging. I am sad I no longer have all of the stuff I collected when I worked in Hallmark stores and we sold oodles of these. I had all kinds of sales catalogs and such, but they are gone.
Hello Again
Just had this reply from Sheffield.
'Thank you for your email regarding the Capo Di Monte figure group. It will have been produced in the 1960-70s when they were very fashionable and were expensive to buy new. I cannot tell you much information regarding the modeller except be was one of their senior designers and created many of Capo Di Monte designs.
Thanks so much for letting us know what they said. That is in keeping with my research and knowledge of the pieces so I selfishly (sorry to be selfish) and glad that my memory has not totally failed me.
I wish they had given more details on the artist even to confirm if it is a he or a she. I am usually quite adept at finding the deep details on artists from all genre, so I wonder if this artist is a "pen name" and not his/her real name and what he/she is doing today (hopefully still with us in this world).
Enjoy your piece and when you see it, may your father's memory be a blessing to you every time!
I would just like to thank you for all your help, I am happy to have found out all about it. You have been amazing.
