I have just answered your other question about another couch that you have posted here. Here is a comparison to the Federal -style couch that is listed on eBay for sale. www.ebay.com/.../133484670589?hash=item1f144e6e7d.... I see this couch is quite expensive and before investing this type of money on a couch that really isn't what they claim it is I would have to have it examined by an expert.
There is a lot of looks like around and this could be one of them or it could actually be a real Federal-style couch. From the images I have seen so far they do look similar but the ones that are posted online for sale are quite a bit more detailed than this one really is.

This Federal style couch could be a reproduction. Reproductions are still somewhat valuable. Here is a link to Federal furniture reproductions and there worth.- thefederalistonline.com/.../upholstered-seating - phone # they also have a phone number to reach put to them for info.
- Also on eBay they have Actual Federal Couches and asking prices.
www.ebay.com/.../bn_18099820 - So with this info this couch could be newer/ or a period piece. Please check with a professional to be sure of what you have!
