I have a Mersman 7152 end table with glass shelf. Its not oak and is mahogany in color. Ive had it so long I dont know where it came from. Its possible my father refinished it but he is gone and I cannot ask.

Your table is gorgeous! I found original newspapers ads for the 7152 from 1950. It calls them Sheraton Chairside Nest and it looks (from the ad) that there may have been two other tables in the series...which makes no sense since yours has a shelf, so I wonder if the reused the number and yours is a later model. I will continue to look since this now has me curious.
But, so far, all references point to this 1950 model. The photos in the old papers are two dark for me to verify it is the same table but it does state they are mahogany with the marque pattern on the front like yours has (apparently hand laid patterns) so that sounds like 2 of 3 things match--it is just the shelf is what is throwing me off.
I don't think the glass is original to the piece, nothing mentioned in the ad and I know from my own family, glass was often an after market purchase to protect the pieces.
As for value--it varies from town to town. Where I am, in Pittsburgh, probably $25 would be average. Other places they fetch much more.
Condition is everything and yours looks like it is nice. Start at 200 and take best offer which could be as low s $25.
Post back how your sale goes! Thanks for sharing!
I found a lighter picture but it is still pretty dark. It does look very similar from what I can make out. It looks like there may have been two small tables tucked underneath the shelf. I wish I could find the original store catalog not just a newspaper ad. That would confirm.
I also see I butchered the spelling of the work around the front...they call it "Marquetaria on front rail".
You should be able to click on the photo to make it bigger. On some systems you can right click on it and save it off and then drop it into Word or PowerPoint to enlarge it as big as you need to to see it--but it will pixilate.
Hope this is helpful!
Wow, thanks! Thats a heap of information. Im pretty sure I bought the glass for it. Cant recall for sure. Its s a fairly thick pane. I appreciate your note. I dont plant to sell it. Good noticed the model 7152 on the bottom when I was moving.
Happy to help! I am a Mersman fan :)
Tables like this go for $75-$125 on eBay, depending on condition
I found a Mersman table with the same number 7152 www.antiquers.com/
This table was painted, but the part with the number remained unpainted www.antiquers.com/
I think I get it. I think there are two tables in the photo, one small table half inserted in the part where half of the shelf is moved. I think I even made out the legs of this small table.
My table is half wood shelf half glass shelve; which doesnt show (in my photo) the wood shelf portion on the back half. Thanks for your input!
I think there is no doubt that this is a mid-century table.
Tables with this pattern are sometimes called Inlaid Tables. They have a checkerboard inlay: www.k-bid.com/
