Can anyone give me info on this set? It has some info on the back, but I can't find it anywhere on the net. It's been painted and knobs switched out, but it still really sturdy.

I have been searching for this dresser and mirror and I can not find anything at all that looks like this online. Conidering it has been painted and the parts changed out the value will greatly decrease for sure. From the marking on the back I can not see much of them and it is hard to see them all. This makes it difficult to give you a date on the furniture.
This piece is a mystery and I wonder if you have a total franken piece on your hands.
Where did you find the Bassett marking?
Does the piece appear to be a cream/white under the paint--I can see some chipping?
The back looks fairly new and inexpensively made. Most Bassett furniture I am familiar with has solid backs and not this pressed wood backing.
This is what makes me wonder if someone took, say, Bassett drawers and put them into a newer and flimsier piece.
The other thing that makes me wonder if the drawers are not original, is that you don't often see the trim work with the type of beveling on the drawers--the beveled drawers I am familiar with almost always come in a piece with a smooth front (to show off the bevel). In this piece, it just feels like there is a mix and match of styles.
I also can not find any mention of a "white chalet" in a Bassett piece--but I am only able to locate some of my resources, not all.
There is a newer company that uses the white chalet term...so maybe the shell was theirs?
There is also so much I can't see...when the world settles, can you take the piece or have someone come to you to look at it in person to see what you have and if it is worth doing something with it--like stripping it down or maybe it is just going to be a project piece???
When you are able to have it looked at, please post back what you learn so this mystery can be solved!! Thanks for sharing!
So a little more background,,, its been in my possession for YEARS, literally was my dresser as a kid, used it for my kids and since I am 1/2 a century old its got some age on it! The Bassett mark is in top drawer on both the long and tall pieces. It was a cream/white kind of speckled, I think I have a pic of door open of the long dresser where you can see original finish. Its super heavy and solid actually. Let me see if I can get a few more pics and how I can add them
This does not look too old to me, and correct me if I'm wrong, but this looks to be made out of particle board. This is, needless to say, neither that old nor that valuable.
Particle board furniture is very sturdy, very heavy, but it is brittle, especially with age - the joints start to be damaged.
It also looks to be the sort of thing made in the 80s
Thanks for taking some time to help! I answered another reply to some possible info,,, Ive had these pieces for probably 45 years,,, they were mine as a kid and Ive used them for my kids but in one of those moments of these are boring they were painted and button knobs put on! The Bassett mark is inside top drawers, and the backing does look cruddy,,, the dressers themselves are heavy and sturdy. I was just kind of curious if someone else could shed some light on them since I didnt find a single bit of info!
