Is My Dog a Blue Heeler?

Is My Dog a Blue Heeler? - 6 weeks oldMeet Pewter, found wandering the streets at about 6 weeks old and my newest addition. I absolutely adore my new mystery puppy. And would love to know what he is. I get asked all the time and have had several Blue Heeler owners tell me that's a Heeler to the T. His ears are starting to stand up and he looks like a smaller version of Bear, but has a tail. In the other question asked; can an Australian Cattle dog have no brown and a curly tail?

So I'm just looking for input.
Here's some pics and thanks for the help.

1st pic 6 weeks old
2nd pic face close up (9 weeks)
3rd pic curled tail and this is how he keeps it unless is in a deep sleep
4th pic his eye color hasn't changed since I've had him

We had owned a Blue Heeler at one point, and that the dog is also called an Australian Cattle Dog.

A vet or the American Kennel Club ( or equivalent if you are in another country) can help you on this one.

I can easily see why you love this pup.
I just love Microsoft's new app so maybe you might try it out with one of your pics:

It is a blue heeler. They have a teddy-bear shape when really young.

I just came across your question, 3 yrs. later... I'm sure you already know the answer. We raised Heelers for several years & yes that what he is. The year now is 2020, a messed up year but the year also brought an unexpected litter (8) of red heeler puppies. Getting him at 6 wks. his color had already come in but they are born white.

The 1st couple of weeks is like waiting for Christmas, you can't wait to see what you got. Out of 8 there were 2 blues & the rest were reds. Both parents are reds but it doesn't matter the color, Red or Blue. You know you have a Heeler if they have the true blue mark, the White on their head.
