Is My Dog a Full Blooded Pit?

Is My Dog a Full Blooded Pit? - dog in profile on bedShe will be eight months tomorrow. She weighs 64 pounds. I've seen pics of her parents, they seemed like pretty good looking dogs. I just wanted a second opinion. I was told she was 100% blue nose Pit Bull. I paid $125; so people then question if she's real?

She does look pure bred. You could have a DNA test done to know for sure.

Normally when you took the dog if it was a pure breed pit bull, it should come with papers. If this dog is actually a full breed blue nose Pit Bull the seller of the dog should supply you with her breeding papers.

In order to find out if she is actually, a full breed Pit Bull do a DNA test. You can ask your vet to do the test for your dog or you can purchase one online.

Bath time - what a sad looking baby!
She certainly has a lot of markers but even for an expert it would be difficult to give even a good guess from a photograph. Puppies change so much in such a short length of time - do you have photos of an earlier time?
$125 is not a lot of money to pay for a pure bred and I feel sure if the breeders had any proof of the true breed they would be selling pups for more money (with papers). That does not necessarily mean she is not pure bred, it just means it is highly unlikely.

DNA tests are really popular because people (like yourself) are just curious about their pets breeding. DNA test kits cost $50 to $200 and up so they are not really cheap. These tests can be purchased at most pet stores, on-line and from your vet. I feel sure you have already had her to see your vet (shots, vaccinations, (Parvo!!) so maybe at her next visit you could ask them about her breeding and also check on their cost for DNA test.
here is a link that explains about DNA tests and also a sample site for a kit (these are sold at Amazon, eBay, and many other sites). The last link is a site explaining about what shots etc a puppy needs their first year.
