I bought a puppy that is said to be an American Pit and I would like to get a an opinion. I don't have a pic of the supposed mom, but I do of the dad. The guy told me the mom and dad have papers and that I could get papers too but not for sure.

it looks like it, though at that age it's hard to tell. He looks like a pit now but if, as he ages his snout changes shape, or his body is different, then it means he wasn't/
If you have papers, that's good enough to go on. Aside from a DNA test there's no real way to tell anyway, though vets and AKC officials do know how to read stance, height, weight, etc.
