I recently bought a Pit Bull puppy for R800. The puppy didn't come with papers, but I did see the mom and dad. They pretty much looked like pure bred Pit Bulls to me, but it was only on a photo at our beach front. Can any one tell me if my puppy is a pedigree pup or not because I'm a breeder of Staff? How do I find out his bloodline?

He is adorable for sure. Breeders don't buy puppies without papers. If you plan to breed this dog, know that you will not be able to register the puppies, and you will get less money for your puppies. That is because people buying your puppies wont know the bloodlines, and wont be sure what they are getting. Kinda like you are right now. Have this puppy neutered and enjoy him as a pet. Dont join the crowd of irresponsible back yard breeders out there. Our shelters are overflowing with irresponsibly bred dogs.
That's the 100% truth right there. Personally I feel if you were a "purebred breeder." This question should not have been asked. Or maybe we both have a misunderstanding. A professional breeder has documentation of everything period. If not your going by hearsay which a judge(whatever your breeding purpose) doesn't have time for..now if your pups had litters and you sold them nothing more, doesn't make you a breeder.
I agree with Lizzyannie. You have know way of knowing if the dog is purebred. The fact that the dog's parents "pretty much" looked like they were doesn't really mean anything.
Besides the fact, you can't just breed a purebred pit bull with another purebred pit bull. It's more complicated than that. You have to breed true to color, temperament and conformity. This absolutely requires knowledge of the parentage.
Also, you must test for genetic disorders the puppies could inherit.
I don't think R800 is even enough for a purebred puppy. It isn't likely purebred if you got it that cheap.
My puppy looks identical to this
