I am thinking of using peppermint oil to rid an aviary of mice. Will it harm my birds?

Pure Peppermint oil extrememly strong & I would bet that it would be harmful to birds. The best thing to rid any place of mice is a good mouser. A cat!
There are lots of good indoor-outdoor cats in shelters just waiting for a good home. Our whole neighborhood had a very nasty mole problem, but after we got our cat we have the only yard on the block without moles!
You should not use any oils near birds since their respiratory systems are delicate.
Catch mice in traps. Store all seed in airtight containers like glass jars. Vacuum daily around the cage. If that's a pain, use a dustbuster. Put the cage on a table with legs such as shiny steel legs so the mice can't climb up.
Here are the benefits of some of the essential oils:
Ylang Ylang is relaxing. Eucalyptus aids with respiratory problems (Toxic to birds);
peppermint, rosemary and thyme are energizing,
Will mint, citus or Eucalyptus oil infused spray harm birds or deter birds from feeding
Will spraying peppermint oil in my house affect my birds or dogs?
A cat is even more harmful to birds by not only putting a lot of stress on any bird by trying to catch and kill it but also by killing any bird.Very bad advise .Get a life trap for rats and mice and kill them humanely after catching
I want to rid my quail cages from mice and rats. Can I spray the prepped mint oil on the quails hay ?
Ah yes, solve a dangerous problem with something more dangerous.
