I'm not sure I understand your question completely, but in the children's book, illustrated by William Nicholson, the rabbit has long semi-floppy ears and likely was not based on an actual prototype. Many of the earliest "stuffed" or plush animal toys from that period (early 20th century) were filled with straw. Yours possibly was made in Japan in mid-century per demand created by the beloved British book.
The original book came out in 1922 and there have been a lot of stuffed rabbits called by this name but I do not believe there was ever an original sanctioned toy by this name.
