Are you in the US? Just curious as I have heard of these but never in my years of selling and "junking" have I seen one in the US.
Its size is unusual. The examples in books are always adult sizes. Yours appears to be child size.

This second sample here is also adult size and gives good details. It call this an Edwardian (style name) Heals brand from London arm chair guest bed. I have also seen them called chaises, and if I remember right these may have been compared to early futons.

Still trying to find more. Hope this gets you started! If can find any more, I will post back.
This piece may have been made by a private owner. There are so many people making there own version of a Adirondack style chair. It's in great shape and well made. Although brand names and serial numbers give a starting point, you could get in touch with a local dealer/appraiser , showing more detailed pictures, including underneath the chair for more answers. They can pin point age , wood type, origin.
An antique is at least 100 years old. Do you have a way to verify that?
This is a new 'style' to me and I cannot figure out what use the chair would be when unfolded..
I agree that it does look like it may have been made for a private sale rather than a brand-name company.
I think it is antique.
