I have a Janome Memory Craft 6000. When the power switch is turned on the motherboard 2.5 Amp fuse blows. What is the problem and solution?

The machine is blowing a fuse because it is getting too hot. If you are not sewing really heavy material for excessive amounts of time, there is something wrong with the machine. Call the store you bought it from and have them look at it.
Hi Judy:
Thanx for your reply (good to know what you state in your answer) to my machine problem.
The split second after the power is switched on the fuse blows and there is no signs of life (no power) on the machine - all lights out and, of course, no chance of any movement. Power cord and foot control check OK.
This is a great machine but is somewhat delicate.
I have always found great support (and answers) when I contacted Janome directly. Here is their web site if you would like to send them an email:
This machine sounds like it needs a visit with a machine repairman. This is an article on how to deal with this situation:

"Yes, it has a 125 Volt 2.5 amp fuse that is about 3/4" long. You can get replacement fuses on Amazon. You can find the fuses if you take the bottom of the machine off, and it's easy to tell if one is blown.
Your problem sounds just like mine...and it was just the fuse."
Disconnected the motor as well as all of the cables connected to the motherboard except power feed, and when the switch was turned on the 2.5 Amp fuse blows. Wander where can I get the info on how to troubleshoot a motherboard for this machine.
I have a Janome 8000 mc and it keeps blowing the fuse . I also have another exact same same mc and it too keeps breaking. I have seen many others doing the same thing so, it may be a flaw in its design. It's not that hard to install it but is time consuming. One piece of advice if you intend to change it yourself is to tape your screws to thier holes so you know where they go and also you can get the fuses at Home Depot for about $3.50.
Faulty fuse? or possibly a short?
