My Janome sewing machine won't sew in reverse. It has perfect stitching forward. It is model 3015. Any suggestions?

This site has a lot of info on these machines.
One of the suggestions was to check to make sure your dials are all set correctly and that it is no buttonhole stitch is selected.
It also recommended if you do all of the basic troubleshooting, to call their service desk for additional guidance (the link
PS...I always go right to the horse's mouth so to speak before trying anything other than the basics...machines are expensive and I would rather be penny wise safe than pound foolish monkeying with it myself.
Thanks for listening!!! Hope this helps!!
This is a very common problem with this machine and a very easy fix. It is simply gummed up and needs to be cleaned and lubed. Take off the bottom plate under the hook . . . just 2 screws. Activate the reverse switch and you'll see a wire rod move. Move the part that the rod is supposed to move manually and you'll see what you have to do. Add some oil to either side of the shaft and move the part manually several time to loosen it up. It appears to be under-designed and a stronger spring is in order. You'll probably find some broken needles, thread and fluff under this plate as well. Remove all of this and lube the rest of the moving parts while you're at it. EASY FIX!
In my opinion, this is a design defect in the machine but an easy fix. All the reverse button does is hold back a spring. When pressed the spring is allowed to pull a small shuttle on a shaft which tells the feed dogs to go in reverse.
Make sure your auto-lock button is not pressed in.
