I'm new to mowing lawns. My John Deere started up fine this morning, but after engaging the blades it shut off. The mower deck is lowered, but the blades are off. Now it won't turn over to start up again.

Make sure everything is in off position before trying to start. Also make sure nothing is in gear and blades up prior to starting!
Check the switch that is under your chair. it is a pressure switch that needs to he engaged in order for the mower to start or even move forward.
