You can help prevent bacon from curling when you fry it by dipping it in cold water before cooking it. It also helps to poke a few holes in the bacon before frying it.
I cook bacon by putting it on a cookie sheet and baking it in the oven. I never have a problem with it curling up, especially if I do it on a slow roast type of deal. It really makes the bacon taste even better. (10/16/2006)

Ditto here on the oven. It cooks more evenly and turns out perfect! (10/16/2006)

Cut the rind off it, get the fry pan not too hot use butter, heat butter till it throffs, but don't burn the butter, put in bacon let it fry abit to get colour then turn down the heat just above simmer - med temp & cook slowly till desired taste. Hope this helps. (10/16/2006)

Cook it in the oven, it cooks evenly and no curling. Bake @350 for approximately 20 minutes depending on your oven and elevation. Have a dish with a folded paper towel ready and use tongs to transfer to dish. Fat can be put in an empty can, put it in the fridge to get solid and dispose of it on trash day. (10/18/2006)
