I have a screened patio, but when it rains, the water brings in dirt from around the bottom edge. So we put down rocks over the outside perimeter dirt to stop it, but it really isn't helping much. Suggestions?

You may need to go heavier and further out from the house. Widening and making it heavier should fix this!
You do not say how high over the rocks your patio floor sits but you'll probably have to go at least 3-4 inches either higher or lower to keep dirt off the patio.
A picture would probably help everyone with suggestions if you could add one to your question.
My patio has a treated wooden border all around the outside and I went with a 5" border so I have very little debris wash onto my floor.
Hopefully you put down some type of landscaping fabric before adding the rocks or they will probably just sink into the dirt as time goes on.
Also, almost any type of rocks are expensive for a large project but you might think about adding some landscaping edging as it comes in several different heights (probably not over 5" though). This can be purchased from Home Depot, Lowe's, Walmart, or any hardware store.

The best way to do this is with treated wood that can go in the garden and and be planted in the dirt. Make a small retaining wall that you can back with rocks if you want or just add plants in front of it. This will keep the dirt off your terrace. Plus you can dig a ditch to put the wood in so that it can block the water and dirt from washing up on your terrace when it rains.
