I found your question to create more questions so I did some research. I can find no website or article that says they land and lay eggs on surfaces that are not or were not organic. So I am at a loss as to an answer. But, perhaps someone else can. I wish you luck.
I just moved into a house and honestly I can't stand these flies my fly swatter is like my American express, don't get caught walking around without it loll. Now the flies here are not the norm at all, most flies will see the swatter and steer clear, not these suckers they put on there boxing gloves and want to go a couple rounds, I know how this sounds but its like they try to attack me in multiplrs, no I don't drink, no drugs loll no kidding, and when they do there making that gross sounding buzzing noise OMG it gives me goosebumps, this does seem to happen after I have killed off 25 or 30 of there family members loll I feel they just want revenge, then I feel a little guilty .
Do they even lay eggs can't imagine them like sitting on it loll okay good night
