I recently bought a Smith-Corona Twelve (picture attached) which, while the ribbon needs replaced, was otherwise working fine for the first few minutes. However, after pressing a few random buttons, suddenly the buttons became 'locked'; as in, they would not fully go down when pressed, and did not type.
The 'tab' and 'power-space' keys worked normally, but no other keys did. After a few more minutes and reloading the page, it began to work again. However, after about a paragraph of typing I pressed return then tab and it suddenly stopped working again, just like before. I have reloaded paper, pressed tab and power-space, etc. just as before, to no avail. Help?

There are a lot of these machines listed for sale on eBay and Etsy.
It appears that Etsy people are asking a lot more money but are they selling? Listing prices are just that - listing prices and rarely have anything to do with true market value. Only sold listings can tell what someone is willing to pay for any item.
