My kitchen is an old 1973 ranch style. It has laminate countertops, and vinyl flooring. The cabinets are white. I would like to spruce it up, but not sure of a color choice. I can't afford to change the counters or flooring at this time. Any advice would be helpful and appreciated.

Sage or avocado greens or bluebonnet or Greek blue walls are nice and traditional in a kitchen especially in a 70s ranch. Add pewter or brushed silver knobs (simple brass knobs can be beautiful too with blues especially) to cabinets.
** Really cheap hardware can be purchased at local habitat for humanity restore. Paint too. The only thing is that options in colors can be limited.
Also look into concrete counters as they are a cheap, fairly easy, and trendy alternative to marble or tile.
Ive also seen beautiful remodels of repurposed pallets cut into different lengths and stained then nailed and tiled for a cheap backsplash alternative.
