Kitchen Paint Color Advice?

I have a decent sized eat-in kitchen with light beige tile floors, almond, like the old almond appliances, cabinets and beige tile countertops. There is a stainless steel stove, DW and sink, and a black refrigerator.

The vanilla-ness is so boring. What color should I paint the walls? The countertops and flooring are non-negotiable, it's a rental. The cabinets are painted pine, the doors shown open for applying shelf liner paper.
