Kitchen Paint Color Advice?

Well, in my kitchen, I have dark wood cabinets, pale countertops and floor, similar to yours. I have a chair rail, and so I painted the rail and below different from the main room colour. This is a bit of a country look, but if you have an apple theme, you might like it. I found some green patterned curtains with green, red, and plaid apples on them. I just use a valance. I painted the lower part of my kitchen green and sandy brown, with a sponge paint design, and the rail itself is the dark green.

Now, as I said, this is a country look, and not an "in" thing to do at all, but if you like that style, you can do what you want. I have ducks, apples, and a blue and white china collection displayed on the top of the cupboards, and some mosaic apple plaques that I made. The main wall is off-white. As I said, this is not a trendy modern look, but I am happy with it.
