I have light maple kitchen cabinets and dark leaf green with black countertops. The knobs are burnished black. The kitchen doesn't get a lot of natural light and I have stainless steel appliances. What color paint would brighten my kitchen up? The adjacent room is a light sage green.

How about a light pearly gray, a light version of the sage green in the next room, or a sunny yellow?
Your kitchen is very similar to mine, and I'm having it painted a medium shade yellow - not quite sunflower, but not pastel either. It's called Delightful Canary by Behr Paints.
