Kitten Missing Patches of Fur?

My 4 month old kitten has 2 missing patches of fur and they bleed. I've been using peroxide to help heal it, but I don't know what is going on with her. Last week she appeared with the first patch and it's long and hard. Today when I came home from work she had another patch, so I put peroxide on them once again.

I want to know what could maybe be the causes of this or how to heal it without expensive vet bills. These patches just keep coming out of nowhere and I just don't know what to do. The only thing I can really think of is maybe it is because I got another kitten that's only a week apart from her and he's a boy. You can tell they really love each other and they are always playing and fighting together, but their fighting never looks that serious so idk what it could be.

It is difficult to suggest what your kitty might have from your description. However, it is clear that your kitty's problem continues and does not improve. Putting peroxide on the problem areas is not effective as it can inflame the healthy skin around the wounds and delay healing.

You must take her to your vet immediately as she needs help now. Delaying vet evaluation and medical treatment will only continue and probably worsen the kitty's problem. Further delay in providing needed medical care will certainly end up costing more.

Possibly ringworm. Very contagious and needs an anti fungal cream like loterman for ringworm in the feet dept. But need to have a vet check it out first

Yeah, nobody can really tell you the cause because they have to look at it under a microscope. Then you'll know if it's a fungus, bacteria, or what, and you can treat it properly.

Peroxide won't help. It cleans out wounds but this sounds like something different.

I put colloidal silver on my cat which is perfectly safe and he healed. His redness went away, his hair grew back. I did this for a few days until it was healed. You can get that from Amazon.

I recently got Shingles on my entire left arm (which was surprising~I've never had Chicken Box)so painful, like a chemical burn. I spent 4 days in hospital.I looked like a burn victim. They SLATHERED it my arm 2x a day, which I also had to do for 2 months. It's been 7 months and the scars are finally fading. Are you sure it's ok to use on a cat??My kitties has gone bald on his tummy and back legs.I took him to the Vet,she said he could be allergic to the 'scented litter' OR the cat food I use.I changed both 2x but now it has spread to his chest and front paws.

Was going to make an app. to see the Vet again.Would like to hear from you, (it sounds pretty messy & don't they lick it off?) Mahalo*

Could have a fish allergy. My cat did that and I was told a half brother had the allergy. Read labels and take off of any food with fish or fish oil. Worked well within 7 days I could tell a big difference.

Never use peroxide on an animal. Peroxide is used only to disinfect a 'new' wound to clean the germs,if you continue to use it ,it actually does more harm because it will 'break down' the tissue, and it never heal(Google it) that is prob. why it is bleeding and it's painful.

PLEASE take him to the Vet asap. Go on-line and look for a VCA Vet in your area, the first office is FREE. I recently took my kitty for a check-up and they also gave him a FREE dose of Advantage...(usually about $30) Poor baby......wish you well, Aloha*

Try coconut oil. It come in a jar, $4.99 at aladis or any grocery store. Warm the coconut oil and apply it the the cat's fur. I apply this oil on my cat on all the areas where her fur is coming out. At first, I apply it pretty much all over her. That helped a great deal as she has skin issues and an allergy. Coconut oil, it works wonders!

I've been using the coconut oil. Makes her lick more cause they love taste of it. My furball is getting worse.

My Burmese developed spots on his legs. I switched to Halo food with no chicken and everytime he sneaks a piece from my plate. The long spots appear and he gets hives ...I do NOT give him chicken anymore. Plus the Greenies he loves soo much have chicken in them even though they say salmon or tuna so check ingredients. That was the final straw most treats have chicken so they both get freeze dried salmon or lamb. He now has hair on his tummy and legs.

May be to late for me but if you can see this message pls answer. My cats losing their fur from flea bite alergy, would the coconat oil help?

Hydrogen peroxide should def. NOT be used on animals. Peroxide should only be used humans and ONLY used on a new wound to clean the bacteria and only 1 time, if you keep using it you kill the cells that are trying to heal themselves-(Google it) you need to take your baby to a Vet-it could be from several reasons and she could be in pain. Hope she gets well soon. mew
