I have looked all over for a large, white kitty litter bucket. I can always give away the litter if I find a filled one at the store. I would like to use it for my laundry detergent, instead of the big, ugly box.

I don't know about the kitty litter bucket, but could a large white food grade bucket with lid work? I believe they are generally 5 gallon size. A sandwich shop near my work actually advertises that they sell them. I'm sure if you ask aroud you could find one.
Paint comes in 5 gallon buckets at Walmart and other stores. Maybe someone can save one for you?
Try a restaurant. They may have large plastic containers like that which they may be happy to give you for free. Wash them out with bleach and dry thoroughly.
Get any color bucket and use the spray paint for plastic. It is very durable.
Wish I lived closer, we have our share of kitty litter buckets. I would love to share. We get our kitty litter at Aldi's Supermarket or you can check out Walmart or any of the Pet Superstores. We also can get big white buckets from our favorite carry-out deli, when they put the empties out for free.
