Photo Description Pictured above is my favorite rose (only because I don't yet own a Chicago Peace). Its name is Kordes Perfecta. I photographed the rose this evening because in the 25 years I have owned the bush, I have never seen it produce anything that looks close to this. Pictured below is a fully opened version of how this rose usually appears. It is from the same bush. I won't complain about these 'variations on a theme'. They merely add more interest to the garden.
I've learned that the same rose bush can produce quite dissimilar roses. I have a bush named 'Playboy'. It produces roses so unlike each other, one would think they were from different bushes. Even the petal count is affected. This 'single' rose is sometimes semi double.

Both beautiful but not similar in any manner. I have often wondered why or how this happens to plants but this one seems to be living up to its name - doesn't Playboy sometimes mean changing/adapting to the current situation?
As in adapting to the idiosyncrasies of his latest paramour?
Gal, you are a riot!
Nice to see you back...
