I don't like keeping certain pantry staples in the original paper box. I transfer them to plastic containers with tight fitting lids.
I cut the item name from the paper box and use wide, clear tape to tape it to the plastic container.
If you use a good tape, such as the kind sold for sealing packages to be shipped, press out all air bubbles and seal all edges by pressing firmly with your fingernail, the label will last through many hand washings.

The lady who ran a small sweet shop used to leave the empty plastic containers outside the door. anyone could have them for a 10p contribution to a local animal rescue. They were great for covering tender plants too. She said she had to pay to dispose of them otherwise. Might be worth asking round.

Cut out the box label of the product and tape it onto the plastic container. Also cut out any labels from the product and put it into the plastic container.
