This has been one of my favourite Persian stews since I was a little kid. There is truly nothing like it. This is another one of those recipes people ask for my instructions on often and it's best I put it up here with pictures for everyone get use out of. This is my late grandmother's recipe, taught to me by my mother. You can use beef in place of lamb, or just make it vegetarian.
If you can't get a hold of dried limes, you can use a few tablespoons of lemon juice in its place. The recipe for my Persian spice mix that's used in this is in the link below. Enjoy!

This was amazing attosa! I made it in my pressure cooker though instead so only took 30 minutes. Pinned it to make again and again. I didn't have dried limes though so just used a fresh one.
Excellent, excellent, excellent! And it was not too tough to do, right? I'm so pleased to hear this!!!
My husband loves lamb and it is often in the markdown bin at the grocery store. I am definitely going to make it for him. But where do you find the dried limes and fenugreek. Do you go to an Indian or Asian market? I'm a foodie but have never used either of those.
Thanks!
Hi Jess! I get the Fenugreek at Persian and Indian markets but I don't know if you have any near you. If not, you can get it online:
The same goes for the dried limes. You can always sub it with lime juice but it really makes a huge difference if you can get a hold of these:

Thanks! I have a ton of Asian and Indian markets in the area. I will check those. I've never really tried Persian cooking so that is a fun new area for me. :)
Ooooh I hope you love it! I'm excited for you to try some Persian cooking!!!!!!!!!
