Here's another year for my kiddo's United Nations Celebration. This means another DIY costume. His country was Greece and so I'm gonna need a headdress. Mostly they are laurel leaf headdresses, so I'm gonna make one.
Supplies:
- 2 pieces scratch bond paper
- 1 piece tinsel foil (gold)
- glue
- double sided tape
- 1 empty box
- scissors
- pencil
Steps:
- Stick two pieces of paper together.
- Roll the paper into a thin strip.
- Cover the entire strip with double sided tape.
- Roll the covered strip into golden tinsel foil.
- Put two tips together to form a ring. Set aside.
- On a box or piece of cardboard, draw a laurel leaf.
- Cut it out and make approximately 20-30 pieces.
- Cut tinsel foil into a strip and fold several times.
- Stick one leaf onto the top layer and cut out following its shape. That way you were able to make more golden leaves.
- Fold the leaf into half, crease well.
- Pinch the sides diagonally upwards and crease well.
- Stick the golden leaves onto both sides of the cardboard leaf.
- Stick the leaves onto the golden ring in alternate directions. See photo.
- Cover the entire ring with golden leaves.
- Greek laurel leaf headdress is done.
