I have a Craftsman 917.276905 lawn tractor with a good battery, new solenoid, and new ignition switch and still nothing, not even a sound.

This sounds like you have an issue with the starter. You could also have a problem with the reset switch under the chair. Have you checked this yet? If not try to reset it. Also use a volt meter to test the cables from the battery to the starter. Test the cables from the starter to the chassis. You have a bad cable or connection on the mower and you aren't getting any power.
