I made a ring using the leather tag from a bag and the mother-of-pearl beads from a necklace. Of course, you can replace the beads with real pearls. I really like this combination.

Total Time: 20 Min
Supplies:
1 leather tag or a piece of leather
1 mother-of-pearl bead or pearl with diameter 0.3 inch
2 mother-of-pearl beads or pearls with diameter 0.2 inch
6 in fishing line, braided, diameter 0.55 mm
scissors
awl
pliers
ruler
pencil
blade
Steps:
Cut a strip from the tag about 0.2 inches wide (about 2.3 inches long). Round off the edges, trim the pile with scissors.
Make small holes, stepping back 0.2 inch from the edge.
String the beads on the fishing line in this order: first a small bead, then a big one, then a small one again.

Slide the ends of the fishing line through the holes on the front of the leather strip.
Thread one end of the line back through the large bead and make a knot, but do not tighten it.
Pass the other end of the fishing line through the knot and tie another knot around the fishing line.
Tighten one knot first and then the second knot so that the beads fit snugly against each other and against the leather strip. Use a pair of pliers to tie the knots as tightly as possible.

Thread one end of the fishing line through the big bead. Now you need to use pliers to move the knots inside the big bead. Do this very carefully, gradually moving the fishing line inside the rest of the beads. Turn the leather strip out for convenience.
Very carefully cut off the ends that protrude from the big bead with a blade. Turn out the leather strip and straighten the ends. Your ring is ready.
