Gold Post Medal for All Time! 899 Posts My toddler loves to play with his kinetic sand, but it has been a challenge to contain the mess. I also needed to find a storage solution for the sand, tools, and molds. I decided to try a lidded cake pan. It works great!

Steps:
- He plays with the sand inside the cake pan. He has the molds and tools in the lid for easy accessibility. He has a few small "mighty machines" that he uses exclusively for his kinetic sand too. This has been way less messy than the small sandbox we had before, that used regular play sand!
- Short term storage: When he is done playing, we put the inverted lid onto the pan. This keeps the sand clean and everything tidied up for the next time he plays.
- Long term storage: We bag up the sand and store everything inside the pan, with the lid snapped on. This solution also makes it easy to take this activity with us on a trip.
