Light Switch Won't Work?

The light switch flashed as I turned it on, I made it safe. I have undone and reconnected the red wire that had come loose, but it will not turn on. All other lights work. I have even changed a light bulb. It's a dimmer switch for a light with four spot lights.

Please help.
