I've been reading up on using lemon juice and laying in the sun, to lighten your hair. Will putting the lemon juice and water in your hair and laying in the tanning bed give you the same results as laying out in the sun? My hair is a light brown. I just recently got a tanning bed and it's impossible to lay out in the sun, it's winter LOL! And I'm wanting to lighten my hair some. Please someone let me know. Thanks (=

You can use your tanning bed to lighten your hair. However, you shouldn't use this bed more than 15 to 30 minutes at a time. It has been proven that this form of tanning with these beds and the UV lights can give you skin cancer. But so can the sun if you go out and lay in the sun so you have a nice tan.
Tanning beds are known to cause skin cancer. I'm sure it would lighten your hair, too but why take a chance?
It does work, yes. Don't overdo it!
I got skin cancer from a tanning bed, so please be careful and don't over do it and yes your hair will lighten
