One way I like to use plastic wrap is to tear off a sheet and line the bottom of a wastebasket with it. That way, when it comes time to empty the wastebasket out, clean up is a little easier.

A circle of parchment paper can be placed in the bottom of the waste basket. I drape a fresh trash bag over the side of the water basket, then put take trash bag in the waste basket, at the time the trash bag is removed, the fresh bag is available, the circle of parchment is removed and replaced with a new circle.
I use the plastic bags I get at the supermarket for this purpose. I haven't purchased trash bags in years.
I do the same but so many areas are trying to ban the plastic bags. I think they should ban the people that don't dispose of them properly! :-)
I also use plastic bags from grocery stores, I kept an empty bag in the bottom of the waste basket.
I love plastic grocery bags and have a lot of uses for them. I keep several in the car for trash when we are traveling and have also used them to put my muddy shoes or when we go to the beach, my sandy shoes, in.
Plastic bags are dangerous to the environment though. I find a lot of them on the roadside when I'm picking up litter. They hold water making them a breeding ground for mosquitoes. They get in the ocean and whales and turtles eat them thinking they are food.
Although I think the plastic bag invention is up there with sliced bread, we need to be really careful with them and not let them end up as roadside litter.
