Even though liver is not one of my favorite meats, this recipe makes me think of my dad. He loved liver and I think he would have loved this recipe. Even I enjoy this. He's been gone almost 3 years and I miss him so very much! It's almost his birthday and I wish I could make this for him. Happy Birthday in Heaven, Dad!
Ingredients:
- 1 lb. beef liver, cut in small strips
- 1 large onion, sliced
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 1/2 cup water
- 2 Tbsp. sugar
- dash pepper
- dash garlic salt
- 1/4 cup flour
- 2 Tbsp. shortening
Directions:
Cut liver in small strips, and roll well in flour. Melt shortening in skillet. Add liver and fry only until browned. Add remaining ingredients. Cover and cook over low heat until liver is no longer pink. Be careful not to over-cook. Serve with rice.
