My living room has a very neutral color scheme - beige walls, dark brown trim, beige carpet, and oil rubbed bronze fixtures, fan, lights, and curtain rod. I'm struggling with figuring out what style of drapes to hang. I would really like to have two patterned panels in the middle and two solid panels on the outside, it is a very wide window, and I would also like to incorporate color to liven the space up and get away from such a neutral palette.
*The first photo attached is my sad attempt at choosing drapes. Please only pay attention to the left side. I was experimenting with how four patterned panels would look vs. two patterned panels inside and two solid panels outside. Anyways, this is the type of pattern that I'm drawn towards.
*The second photo attached is a color similar to what the walls and the carpet are.

I like the drapes on the left with a pattern, but no colour, in the material. I think they look quite classy. I would not put two different drapes up. I would just use the patterned ones. You can incorporate colour with your paintings, sofa cushions, and throws, or with a side chair.
