Where may I find 5 free used tires for my 94 Ford Ranger xlt? I need tires desperately. There's only one tire that is decent. The rest are ready to blow. And I'm on SSI due to disability and could really use some help.
Thanks~ Jen

It will be hard to find completely free tires plus the cost to remove your existing tires and mount those pre-loved/new tires would cost money.
You might want to call local small tire shops and ask if they have your tires for sale (pre-used) for a good value.
To raise money for your tires fund you could share your cooking recipes, crafts here on Thriftyfun , answer questions and contribute to this site.
Other tips - there are survey sites where you can earn money :)
You could also barter any services to family/friends, word of mouth. Check craigslist, post on Nextdoor
Good luck!
Most used tires are taken off of cars because they are starting to wear out and become dangerous. I know it is hard when you are on disability and tires are so important. I would like to suggest that you put in an ad on Craigslist in your area and see if anyone is willing to help. Right now there are many people in need of help and you have a very good cause.
You can advertise on Freecycle, Craig's list, word of mouth, and there are places that will finance your tires to make payments. Also there is the barter system, there maybe things you can do in trade for the tires!
It is possible you could open a go fund me account but I think you should do a lot of reading on how this works and certainly not put all your faith in something like this. Especially during the crisis we are going through.
Getting 5 free tires is close to a 'dream' as this will probably not happen. You might go on Craigslist and Freecycle and ask for help getting tires but be willing to accept any amount anyone has to offer.
Not to many shops are selling used tires because most states are making the businesses responsible for the used tires they place on someone's cars - a guarantee of sorts and this is scary for a business like this.
Just doing the removing, replacing tires on old rims, balancing, placing back on truck is very expensive and that's not even counting the fees the state charges for disposal of each old tire.
You might be able to get some help from your local church but most likely you are going to have to try and get one tire at a time and even that will not be easy.
