This is hippo, my favorite childhood toy and memory. I lost it when I was a child and never recover from it. I hope someone can help me find one just like him or as similar as possible.
Thank you <3

This Hippo has been "loved before" but could always use more hugs!
Born in 1979 and about 13" x 7";
Made by Daekor... I know what it is like to loose a treasured baby. Good Luck and God Bless
1979 Daekor Hippo looks a bit like your toy, but I don't think you have Daekor Hippo poshmark.com/
The only stuffed toy company that I know of from that time that is still in business today is Gund. You might want to contact them.
Offer your pictures on social media sites, for answers. Giving as much info as you can, even the state ,at the time, just in case this is a local piece. There is someone who knows.
Can you share the year? That will be helpful. Thank you.
Your toy was really, really cute. I noticed that it was small and a little long. I have looked at quite a few vintage hippopotamuses fluffy toys. The only one that is more or less similar:

I find the best place to find a lost toy or one simular is on eBay. Do a search putting in all the information that you have, description/any numbers/ manufactures name / etc . It is said that eBay has the biggest collections of dolls and toys on any site.
You can check these out to see if they are close to your lost hippo:

Good Luck and I hope you find one !!!
Hey! I have one exactly like the one you are looking for. Hes my best friend since I was a baby and is now happily married to a belgian hippo. Unfortunately, the label has been cut off and I cant find the brand.
I actually was able to find the brand. Its a Mark and Spencer hippo. Heres a picture I found on internet about it: www.worthpoint.com/
Apparently it had a collar.
Hope that helped!
