I'm a divorced lady who is on disability and barely gets by as it is, but my house is in desperate need of an exterminator due to an infestation of roaches. I have tried just about everything available to regular consumers with no real results! I live in Anderson, South Carolina. Please tell me that there is assistance available for someone in my position.

I would call the department of health in your area and ask them what to do.
It does not sound like you have young children or pets but the following will work if you do a thorough job.
First do a very good clean up - especially kitchen and bathrooms.
You should try using 20 Mule Teem Borax.
Sold at all grocery stores and not expensive.
Scatter it everywhere - even in crevasses of your furniture.
It does not have to be a heavy strip, just sprinkle it all around your house; under furniture, all along the walls, in your kitchen and bathrooms. bedrooms and closets. Scatter it in your cabinets (will not harm unopened food), inside your bathroom cabinets. Place on floor in clothes closets.
Do not leave a space for a bug to cross without walking in this power.
Scatter it around your doors - inside and outside.
You should leave it scattered and not vacuum or sweep it away.
I prefer Diatomaceous Earth (FOOD GRADE ONLY) (DE for short) but it does cost more and it is not as easily found as Borax.
DE can be found at Lowe's, Home Depot, farm supply stores, hardware stores and online.

You need help ASAP and none of these agencies work like that - you fill out forms and wait and wait....
