I am looking for a recipe for Macaroni salad. Nothing fancy. Is it better to use miracle whip, or mayonnaise? Also, I am looking for a recipe for pasta salad. Any recipes would be appreciated. Please list the amount of ingredients used for both recipes.
Thanks,
P.J. from Delaware
Mix first 6 ingredients together. In a separate bowl; mix remaining ingredients and pour over macaroni mixture; mix well and chill. This will keep in refrigerator for several days.

Pasta Salad
Drain macaroni and while still warm mix all ingredients except tomatoes tuna and cheese.
If you need extra miracle whip add small amounts at a time. Now once mixed chill for at least one hour or more then add the remaining ingredients
mix well. Very filling meal you can add other veggies according to your preference but may need more miracle whip. Good luck! (07/21/2006)

Last night I had some leftover angel hair pasta so made some pasta salad with imitation crab meat, it was delicious.
I don't measure anything, just chop everything fine. I like it with about half as much veggies as pasta...finely chopped carrots, onions, celery, peppers, tomatoes, cauliflower. For dressing use sweet and sour dressing or make some up.
I like mine with not much dressing, feel it's better for us. For about 2 cups of pasta, 1 cup of veggies, and one package of imitation crab meat I put in about.

Judy's Macaroni Salad; 3 cups cooked and cooled elbow or similar macaroni.1/3 cup chopped onion,1/3 cup finely chopped celery, 1 1/2 cups frozen tiny peas, thawed, 1/2 tsp celery seeds(optional),1/2 cup Miracle Whip and salt and pepper to taste. I sometimes add small chunks of cheddar cheese and/or small chunks ham.You may need to add a little more Miracle Whip if it seems too dry after sitting in fridge for a while. (07/23/2006)

I had a grandmother friend give me this recipe for the salad: Macaroni, eggs, mayonnaise, relish, onion and I add green peppers if I have them. Here is the secret ingredient: a small amount of French dressing. It makes it a pretty orange colored salad and spices up the salad a bit. (07/24/2006)
